The BMSI 2025 Sales & Leadership Conference

In February, the BMSI team gathered at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield for our highly anticipated annual Sales & Leadership Conference. We had a wonderful day filled with inspiring talks, engaging workshops, and an awards evening. 

It was a perfect reminder of the incredible teamwork and innovation that make BMSI such a special place to work.

A Vision for Growth

The day began with a warm welcome and inspiring speeches from Managing Director John Axten and Commercial Director Darren Abbott. They shared a powerful overview of BMSI’s growth journey, highlighting our key milestones and the roadmap for the future. Their passion set the tone for a day focused on collaboration, shared learning, and ambition.

It was a really nice morning, with everyone enjoying coffee and catching up, and it was great to see team members from different regions sharing their excitement about the coming year.

One of the standout sessions of the day came from our partners at Trend Control Systems. Their talk delved into emerging trends and advancements in building management systems, helping us understand how these innovations can create smarter, more efficient environments for our clients.

Exploring Cutting-Edge Solutions

One Sightsolutions LTD also took the stage to showcase their latest technological solutions. Their presentation demonstrated how their cutting-edge tools can transform the way we approach project implementation, ensuring seamless integration and long-term success.

Interactive Workshops

Driving Growth with Fresh Ideas

The workshops, led by Deputy Managing Director Chris Reid and Project Sales Director Simon Backshell, were an engaging highlight. In these interactive sessions, team members were encouraged to voice their ideas on how BMSI can continue to grow and thrive.

These workshops fostered open dialogue, sparking creative solutions and strategies that will guide our efforts in the coming months. It was inspiring to witness the collective ingenuity and commitment of our team in action.

Sustainability at the Forefront

Our Sustain Energy Centre also delivered an eye-opening session about our dedication to helping customers reduce their building’s energy consumption. Presenters Steven Culshaw, Shayne Wilson, and Chris Lindley shared practical steps and success stories that underline BMSI’s commitment to sustainability.

This session reinforced the importance of our role in driving positive change, both for our clients and the environment. It was clear that sustainability isn’t just a buzzword at BMSI, it’s a core part of who we are and what we do.

Networking Over Lunch

Following the morning sessions, we enjoyed a delicious lunch in The Belfry’s elegant surroundings. The informal setting provided a great opportunity to connect with colleagues from across the organisation, exchange insights, and reflect on the morning’s discussions.

The value of these informal moments can’t be overstated—they allow us to strengthen relationships, spark collaboration, and build a stronger sense of community.
